Hi! I'm Crystal and I just moved to Jorvik from the US exactly 1 week ago. As a city girl, I've always dreamed of being free from the hustle and bustle of city life to take it easy out in the country, so when my contract ended with my previous employer, I packed up and headed for this wonderful place a friend of mine told me about. She knew I loved horses and that my dream of moving out to the country wasn't complete without the desire of owning my very own horse! Little did I know that within a week of arriving and thanks to Mr. Moorland I would have myself a beautiful Jorvik Warmblood stallion named Ironstar.

While moving to a new country sounds pretty glamorous, I can't say it's been easy! I spent the last four years at a dead end office job, so literally "getting my hands dirty" helping out at the stable is a huge difference from what I'm used to. I'm sure I'll eventually adapt to the physical demands of being a stable girl, I just hope it will be soon because coming home after a full day of mucking, grooming, feeding, and milking has me out like a light as soon as my head hits my pillow! I'd love to be less achy and sore so I can spend more time out with Ironstar, but at least he gets to stay with me at Moorland Stable while I'm working. 😊

Over the weekend I did get to go sight-seeing with Ironstar and my newest family member, Sodapup. We rode to Jarlaheim and I got a teensy bit home-sick because the city reminded me a little bit of where I grew up back in the states. The people seem friendlier here though, and one of the locals snapped this awesome picture for me and my boys!
